Sunbird

Revel in the days light,
let it envelop you in its brilliance,
leaving you sheened with a glistening ambient.

Shine through the day, oblivious, naive
and utterly free, free from the transient
strings that attach you to the norm.

Laugh, laugh out loud, be obscure and
vibrant, smile to those who bewilder you.

and dance, dance as you belong in the clouds,
stream and swirl like the friendly tempest you
are.

Moonlight

a boy name gray lies outstretched on a concrete meadow,
tranced by the pearlescent sky above, hues of violet and
indigo refract in his pale, sterling eyes.

In satisfaction he crouches up, hands on elbows, elbows
on knees. He gazes down to the cityscape; broken lines,
fused by flares and streams of scarlet and ivory, constant
and infinite they flow.

Eyes closed, the feeling of nostalgia envelops him. Crazed
in reminiscence, he collapses down to the hardened earth.

A flash of light pierces his eyelids, dispersing an amber
glimmer. Above, high above, heavens above he sees a kindred
spirit, a dazzling star ripples across the sky caressing all
in its wake.

He wishes to be there. . .
